i'm in love with a serial killer.

I tossed & turned in bed trying to come up with the perfect, non-lame excuse as to why it's taken me a full week to update this ol' blog here...

"Dexter"

He's it's become my addiction; one I'll surely go into withdrawals over now that Season 5 has been viewed in it's entirety and Season 6 won't be released 'til August.

What started out as a sure-why-not Netflix pick quickly evolved into a full blown TV obsession. I was in an actual eBay bidding war over my must-have box set and now have the HUGEST crush on Michael C. Hall.

With each episode the likable serial killer got hotter and sexier until I found myself google'ing things like "official Dexter fan page" and reading with intense curiosity about Mike's personal battle with cancer and recent divorce from fellow cast mate - and skinniest-girl-on-television - Jennifer "Deb" Carpenter {she definitely gives Ally McBeal a run for her money}.

I know what you're thinking, "EW!" ew to all of the above: to me watching hours of TV every night, to me purchasing DVD's off eBay, to me wanting to make out with a murderer, to me engaging in stalker-like internet searches...

I totally agree with you - ew times infinity - but I can't help myself.

Clearly I fall hard for quiet, mysterious men; I did after all marry Trev-bob who said all of 2 words over the dinner portion of our blind date.

...

If you're not buying my 'I heart Dexter Morgan' alibi, then here's a couple more reasons why I've dropped off the face of the blogosphere:

* Gabriel's getting his First Tooth - One down, a mouthful to go. I forgot how painful teething can be for both babies AND their parents... thanks for nothing Tylenol. I've had maybe 20 hours of interrupted sleep in the past 4 days and I.am.tired.

* I find out I have allergies 29 years later - so this is what I get for having easy pregnancies? a sudden onset of horrendously loud sneezes, puffy watery eyes and a foggy headache that won't go away? awesome. Looks like I'll have to start paying better attention to those Reactin commercials.

* Saige has been as sassy as ever - I knew I shouldn't have publicly declared "I love 3" because Saige has morphed into a total MONSTER and I've morphed into a "go to your room" meanie.

* Shy Trev is working 12+ hour days - the other half of my parental tag team is MIA leaving me no time to blog myself.

...

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

  4. I've never watched this but between keeping up with those darn kardashians and all the twerps on over at the bachelorette I have had no time to explore other options. Also, serial killers scare me.

YAY GABE!! keep those teeth coming in :)

  5. Too funny! You make me want to start watching Dexter. Poor Gabe. teething is a real drag. I feel for the both of you. Annabelle has her sassy boots on these days so I feel your pain. She is showing how she really feels about having a little brother! One day at a time, one day at a time

  6. I know nothing about Dexter but his newly single wife needs a donut. And some Doritos. Yuck.

I feel ya on teething. I found out that Luke had allergies and,at the pediatricians recommendation, gave him 3/4 teaspoon of children's Benadryl. It knocked him out AND it worked for the allergy. I may or may not have given him Benadryl a few days ago not because of his allergies but because he was teething something terrible and I needed him to nap more than 20 mins. (it worked) worst.mom.ever.

    1. thanks for the tip... I mean I should probably get Gabe tested for allergies ;) wink wink ;)

the 20 minute naps are KILLER which brings me back to Dexter and my STRONG recommendation that you make a point to watch it... for serious.

  9. Well now I'm going to have to check out Dexter! Always love a good serial killer. BTW, definitely with you on the whole "I used to love 3-year-olds, oh wait what happened, now they are a disaster-zone!" My little guy is nearing 4, and I have high hopes for that age... ;)

After reading this post, I yelled to my husband, "did you know that Dexter and Deb are getting divorced?" (I don't know her real name and refer to them by these names). He was already fully aware of this and asked where I've been. Love Dexter!!! I also got allergies for the first time at 28 years old, last year. I used to kinda make fun of people with allergies...this must be karma.
